Quote of the Week: 'Easy to say we love. Difficult to demonstrate it every day.' anon

Dear Parent,
Having said the last newsletter had gone out, here is a real final one for the Autumn term !
Swimming
Thank you to those who have responded about swimming timings. Unfortunately, I have not had enough to make a fair, informed decision, and in fairness to the pools themselves, I have to opt, for now, for the tried and tested afternoon slot. However, next year, we shall definitely go for the early morning slot, as we feel that in our circumstances, this is the best value for money !
Thank you
To all of you who have sent cards and gifts for the staff (particularly the whole staff gifts which have given the staff a much needed energy boost at the end of a long term !). There are too many of you to thank personally , but please know that it is very much appreciated.
Changes
Over the Christmas period I am hopeful that all the lighting in the school will be replaced to allow for a better learning environment, and that some posts will be erected in the car park to provide a safe walkway for the children to get there from the school. Also we are very much hopeful that the new school minibus will be available for us to use in the early part of the Spring term !
Team Theme
Team theme provide us with a teacher for some of our P.E. lessons, as well as some opportunity for Clubs. Next term Mr Burns will be deployed elsewhere in the Team Theme organisation and so we shall have a new teacher.
I would like to say a big thank you to Mr Burns for his enthusiasm, energy and the interest he has shown in our school, and we wish him the best with his new role.
Woodpecker and Breakfast Clubs
These will both operate from the first day back, January 6th, under the stewardship of Mrs Berryman. Please do book as normal, but in the first week we would expect there to be a few last minute bookings. Mrs Brandt can now have a little longer in her bed and a very well deserved rest. Thanks Mrs Brandt. Also we wish Mrs Lush all the very best with the birth of her new child and will see her again in September.
Queries
Often, we are asked questions about various matters while on the hoof, so to speak, and generally are very happy to try and sort things out in these circumstances. However, If you have a request for information of a serious matter, we would be very grateful if you could make an appointment to see us, so that we can give the matter the attention it deserves.
Request
In our attempts to provide our younger pupils with an exciting and stimulating play area, Mrs Brown wonders if any members of our school community have any milk crates or tyres that we could use in our play area. If you do and would be willing to let us have them, please see Mrs Brown !!
Recipe of the week
Please find on the reverse our recipe of the week provided by the Wiltshire family ! Thanks to them, and hopefully there will be more to follow next term.

And with that, we wish you a very merry Christmas again, and hope that everybody returns on January 6th, safe and having had a wonderful break.

Yours sincerely,

Iain Crabtree
