Personal Development Through Collective Worship and Assembly Time
Through collective worship and assembly time we explore themes of relevance to our pupils and which prepare them for life in our modern society. Some examples of the themes planned for are honesty, ambition, inclusion, equality, truthfulness and hope. We aspire to help our pupils develop resilience and an understanding of the wider world as they experience these assemblies together as a school body from Reception to Year 6. Issues such as the tough times all have experienced through the recent pandemic can be explored and hopeful answers given. Other issues such as bullying are tackled and challenged through anti-bullying assemblies. Younger pupils often surprise us with the freshness of their responses and older pupils have a chance to take a leadership role as well as inspiring their younger peers with thoughtful answers or points they wish to make. Special event assemblies such as Harvest help our pupils to reflect, be thankful and think about how they can assist others as we did in October 2022 when giving food items to the local foodbank.
