Our football team got off to a great start this year as they played in the Huish Tournament this October 2022. All the boys played well and showed skill and commitment, scored several great goals and were unlucky to lose a couple of games by a single goal. Two great wins rounded off a fine performance by all. An especially big thanks goes to FOHSA, the Friends Of Hambridge Association who purchased our lovely new football kit. The boys all looked splendid in this as they played each match.
Our amazing runners took part in the inter school cross country event organized by us for six participating schools at Hambridge Primary School. Notable results included Sophie winning the Year 5/6 girls race, Theo coming 3rd in the Year 3/4 boys race and Harriett placing 4th in the Year 3/4 girls race. Well done everyone who took part!
CROSS COUNTRY RACING AT HAMBRIDGE PRIMARY SCHOOL
Our school hosted one of the inter school cross - country races on Thursday 7th October and our Hambridge Cross Country Team all ran brilliantly in each of the four races which took place. Highlights included Wright coming 3rd with an excellent result in the Year ¾ boy’s race and Sophie in the Year ¾ Girl’s race who was a brilliant runner up.
Well done to all of our fantastic runners for taking part and a special big thank you to Mrs Sauter for organising the event.
Netball
For the past three weeks our netball team has showed an amazing amount of determination, skill and resilience during the annual school tournaments held at Huish Academy. Overall, we won 5 games, lost 4 and drew 1, not bad for a team that hasn’t played in two years! At Hambridge we pride ourselves on being able to work as a team, which is exactly what this team did! They went above and beyond to take part and represent our school and because of this, I am so proud of each and everyone of them.
Man of the match was Jacob Chapman due to his amazing sportsmanship and swift ball skills.
Lady of the match Bonnie Bell for her sheer determination and brilliant team player attitude during each game!
Every player was outstanding, and for this I would like to say Thank you! I also wanted to thank all the wonderful parents who supported the children throughout each match and for taking the time to transport the children.
Go Team Hambridge! Miss Orchard
FOOTBALL

We now progress to the next round of the Small Schools South Somerset Football Finals to be played at Bucklers Mead Academy on November 11th 2021
